SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Is Today the Day?” Edition

Good day to you Steelers’ Fans!

The tweet may have included some really poor English but Le’Veon Bell still has people wondering if indeed today is the day that he’ll finally report and sign his franchise tag.

We’ve been here before though haven’t we? Bell has tweeted plenty of things that made us think he would be arriving only to discover that wasn’t the case. Our Ben Anderson predicted some time ago that November 6th would be the day and if that’s the case get ready for a media firestorm.

I delivered my quarterly report on the Steelers last night. “Grading the Steelers at the halfway point of 2018” is right here for your reading pleasure. This was much more enjoyable to do than was the first quarter report I can tell ya that!

Tweet of the Day… This is pretty cool and I don’t know how many people saw it.

Ben Roethlisberger said on his weekly radio appearance that the hit he suffered on Sunday was quite “painful.” I don’t care how big and how durable you are when a person as large as Za’Darius Smith is lands on you like that there will be ‘pain.’ For the record Big Ben said he had his wind knocked out and many of us have been there before including yours truly. It’s incredibly scary at first.

If today is the day, I expect that we won’t see Bell on the field until probably week 12. I have very little confidence he’s going to be in elite shape as well.

Rumor was circulating yesterday that the Browns may be looking to bring Mike Munchak in as their next head coach. The Steelers of course would never deny him this opportunity. Munchak has more than proven his worth as the team’s offensive line coach and his loss would be a major blow to the offense. As a head coach, Munchak was 22-26 in three season for Tennessee.

You can officially pencil in Coty Sensabaugh as the starter at cornerback opposite Joe Haden. Artie Burns hasn’t played a defensive snap in two weeks straight. I see no way he’s given his fifth year option as a former first round selection.

I’m going to do one more SCB T-Shirt order before the holidays. Please let me know via email if you’re interested. contactscblitz@gmail.com.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
