SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters for 12/16/15

by Steeldad

The Steelers return to practice today from 115-315pm Eastern as they prepare for the Broncos.

I’m very curious to see how the officials call the game on Sunday in regards to the defensive backs. Both Aqib Talib and Chris Harris are “hands on” guy similar to how Richard Sherman played a few weeks ago. If they are allowed to play that way against Antonio Brown and company it could create problems and a whole lot of bitching from the Steelers’ Nation.

Be on the lookout for our “SCB Year End Awards.” We are already working on them and they are sure to entertain.

Pretty interesting to me that Denver gave up five sacks to Oakland’s Kahlil Mack. When the Raiders played in Pittsburgh earlier this season the Steelers shut out Mack across the board. Perhaps this means the Steelers can find some success off the edge against the Broncos.

Tweet of the Day… This is a screenshot and I’m using it for two reasons. First, you’ll not the initial tweet that refers to Ben Roethlisberger. The author questions Ben’s account of Vontaze Burfict’s hit on him by referring to rape chargers that by the way never existed. The author also misspells the word “raped.” Need I say more? Secondly, you’ll notice the tweet was favorited/retweeted by Burfict himself. So much for sticking together as NFL brethren. What a class act these two are.

The NFL is reportedly looking into Burfict’s hit on Roethlisberger as well they should but let’s be honest. Big Ben doesn’t get these kind of calls and never will. Don’t hold your breath on the league fining Burfict.

The only injury mentioned by Mike Tomlin in his presser yesterday was a shoulder issue with Mike Mitchell. Ironically, Mitchell hurt the shoulder while missing the tackle on the Bengals’ A.J. Green after he beat Antwon Blake for a touchdown.

The Denver defense is very good. Yes, they gave up a lead to Oakland but their offense didn’t help out much. How will Todd Haley approach the gameplan this week? It’s one of the major questions I have heading into this one.

Have a great day Steelers’ Nation!

I’ve just started watching their performance from last week. But, right now it looks as if the Broncos’ O line is not good. Mack is a very talented athlete. He has 14 sacks in 13 games. But he had 9 in 12 games. The Denver game is something of an outlier.
