SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters for 8/23/16

by Steeldad

Good day Steelers’ Fans. Here’s the latest on our Black and Gold!

Steelers’ offensive lineman Ramon Foster issued a dire warning to the rest of the players in the National Football League. Foster is the team’s player rep for the Player’s Association and he believes the players and owners are headed for an extended fight over a new collective bargaining agreement in 2020. Foster, like many others, knows that in the last agreement, the players basically caved because they hadn’t financially planned for the long hiatus. As fans, this should also serve as a warning to us that when the next negotiations come around, we could be without football for a time.

Suspended Steelers’ wide receiver Martavis Bryant took to Twitter to go after Stephen A. Smith of ESPN. I decided to give you my thoughts about it earlier today.

The Steelers are reportedly going to kick the tires on Keenan Lewis today. The former Steeler was recently released by New Orleans. Basically, this comes down to his health. If the Steelers’ physicians find Lewis’ bad hip to be healthy enough then they likely sign him. The positive here is that if he stays healthy, he can play on the outside allowing William Gay to move into the slot.

Tweet of the Day… DeAngelo has an offer for you!

Want to win $1,000? Then you need to ‘Nail the Number’ with SCB and Craig Scott. Learn more right here.

Although I thought it would have happened by now, I still think Ladarius Green comes off the PUP list very soon.

I’m thinking Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and backs Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams play maybe a quarter in New Orleans. I don’t think I’ll be the only one holding my breath every time Ben drops back though regardless of how long he plays.

Have a terrific Tuesday Steeler Nation!
