Cnic’s Steelers Final Steelers Mock + UPDATED DAY 2 MOCK

So, I had a great mock planned out, but my day job got in the way. For that, I am terribly sorry. I will display my mock, but I did not have time to do extensive explanations, links etc. What is this revolving door nonsense? Let me explain. For every day of the draft, I’ll update this mock draft and pick from the remaining crop for those picks. Today, 4/27, I will make 1 pick. Tomorrow 4/28, I will make three picks based on who is available and on Saturday, I will make four picks based on who is left and who we have taken.

My final 2017 Mock Draft:

R1: Jordan Willis, EDGE, Kansas State
R2: Josh Jones, Safety, NC State
R3a: Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
R3b: Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
R4. Dawuane Smoot, EDGE, Illinois
R5. James Connor, RB, Pitt
R6. Michael Roberts, TE, Toledo
R7. Javancy Jones, ILB, Jackson State

Revolving Door Mock Draft:

Round 1, Pick 30: Jordan Willis, EDGE, Kansas State

Assuming Takkarist McKinley, Charles Harris, TJ Watt and most decent cornerbacks are gone, Willis is my pick. The need at edge is obviously a big one. Willis is no reach, either. Lawson is most definitely available. Other picks I’d be happy with? Budda Baker, Derek Rivers, Chidobe Awuzie.

Actual pick: TJ Watt, EDGE, Wisconsin

Round 2, Pick 62: Josh Jones, S, NC State

Josh Jones can play both safety positions and has experience in the slot. Will go to FS when Mike Mitchell’s contract is up and the Steelers choose to go younger and cheaper.

Other possible selections: Marcus Maye, Sidney Jones, Cordrea Tankersley

Round 3, Pick 94: Rasul Douglas, CB, WVU

The Steelers have shown interest in Douglas and they probably like his length and ball skills. I want to see him be more aggressive in both the pass and run game.

Other possible selections: Shaq Griffin, Josh Reynolds, Gerald Everett

Round 3 Pick 105 (Comp): Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami (FL)

If he’s there, I think hes the pick. He’s a good QB with upside but QB’s selected after the second round have a very low success rate in the NFL.

Other possible selections: Samaje Perine, Wayne Gallman, Alex Anzalone, Josh Reynolds
