Good Monday to you Steelers’ fans.
Everything seemed to be moving along quite smoothly in terms of players returning and attending their respective Training Camps. In recent days, I’ve been made privy to some players who aren’t thrilled with the NFL’s plan to return and some even represent our Steelers. Many high profile players took to social media Sunday to make all of us aware of that they don’t feel the NFL is taking things serious enough in regards to bringing everyone in for football.
Once again in the interest of keeping everyone (players & fans) as informed as possible, here is an updated list of what we as players know and don’t know as the first group gets set to report to training camp tomorrow.#WeWantToPlay pic.twitter.com/xQcjs33zgM

We need Football! We need sports! We need hope! The NFL’s unwillingness to follow the recommendations of their own medical experts will prevent that. If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there is no football in 2020. It’s that simple. Get it done @NFL

It is disheartening to hear the NFL is unwilling to follow the recommendations of their own experts regarding player health & safety. If we want to have a FULL season the NFL needs to listen to their experts! #WeWantToPlay @NFL

#WeWantToPlay but not if we are not protected. We want to know that PLAYERS safety is important. At this point it hasn’t been a priority. We report back in a week. Some sooner. @NFL @nflcommish

These were just a few of the many tweets that were sent out yesterday. You may agree with some concerns, all or none but the players clearly aren’t feeling like they’re best interests are being listened to. Veteran players report in a week so I think things will only pick up from here.
Steelers History
Check out the latest piece from Gordon in our “Steelers History” section. He continues to provide some really great information on things you may or may not have known. This week, he tackles 1943 when the Steelers merged with Philadelphia during WWII to become the Steagles.
Deebo to the WWE??
He may be retired but former Steeler James Harrison always finds unique ways to stay relevant. His recent Instagram posting suggests he’s “honing his moves” for a foray into big time wrestling!
Training Camp Previews Rolling On
We’ve wrapped up our Steelers Training Camp Previews on the offensive side of the ball and have started working on the defense. First up this week will be the defensive line.
Whatever It Takes
We can accomplish two things here if we really put our minds to it. We can stop the damn spread of this virus but we can also make sure we have football too. Maybe you don’t social distance or maybe you don’t wear a mask and I can only speak for myself here but I’m doing whatever it takes to make sure we have the Steelers ON THE FIELD this season. I’m doing my part and I encourage all of us to do the same. Take the politics out of it and be a teammate. Be someone who helps contribute so we can have football. You know and I know how much this fall is going to suck if we don’t have football and the Steelers. Maybe I’m naive but I’m still hopeful we can get this done.
