Good Monday to you Steelers’ fans.
Late last week the National Football League and the NFL Players Association reached agreement on COVID testing and a number of other issues which means that Training Camps will happen. One of the more interesting pieces of agreement deals with “detrimental behavior that led to a positive test.” In other words, if a player tests positive and this is the result of a poor choice (i.e. going to a bar or other large gathering where social distancing isn’t happening) then the player can face discipline by their team. This can then lead down another road about injury designation. If this season does in fact happen then we all need to understand the Injured List is going to be a whole different animal then we’ve been used to in the past.
Players Returning to the Steel City
One of my favorite moments in the return to football annually is when players start returning to Pittsburgh. Whether it’s T.J. Watt posting a picture of Giant Eagle, JuJu Smith-Schuster posting video of his dog hanging out the window or the rookies making stops at some of the best spots in town, I always love this time of year. Granted, it’s a unique situation in 2020 but I still enjoy this.
Exciting Announcement Coming…
Last week I was thrilled to report that Frank Walker Law was again going to sponsor this very column for another year. This past weekend we were able to also get a sponsor for our rapidly growing and top notch WPIAL High School Football coverage. As soon as we finalize things I’ll make the announcement.
Tweet of the Day… And we couldn’t be more excited.

The NFL Top 100
If you’ve read this column long enough then you know I’m not a big fan of these subjective rankings. Much like Madden Ratings, the Top 100 is intended to do one thing; create talking points. In other words, get ready for massive, social media outrage!
Jamal Adams is a tremendous football player – probably one of the top defenders in all of football – and now he’s on his way to Seattle. It would be easy to jump on Adams as I have and suggest that he’s just another player who bitched and whined his way out of an organization. Steelers’ fans shouldn’t throw stones at glass houses however because this is the exact same way we landed Minkah Fitzpatrick. As for the trade itself, the Jets got a very nice safety and two first round picks in return. Seems clear to me Seattle is in “win now” mode
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
