The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2016 schedule has been released and if you have plans for the holidays you better make other arrangements. The Steelers will run the rare triumvirate as they will play on Thanksgiving night in Indianapolis, on Christmas Day at home against the Ravens and on New Year’s Day against the Browns.
The Steelers will open the season on Monday, September 12th in the nation’s capitol in primetime against the Redskins. Along with the Colts’ game, Pittsburgh will play two other primetime games. One at Cincinnati in December on a Thursday and the other at home in week four against the Chiefs.
Much to my surprise, the Steelers will actually play the Bengals during Vontaze Burfict’s suspension when they host Cincy in week two. Burfict is suspended for the first three weeks of the season.
The BYE week falls in week eight and is sandwiched between a home date against the Patriots and a trip to Baltimore. The Steelers will only play one game outside of the Eastern Time Zone and that’s when they play the Colts on Turkey Day. Every other game is slated for their traditional time zone.

[…] As you certainly know by now the 2016 schedule for the season is set for our Steelers. They are the only team to play on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Here’s my write up on the 2016 slate. […]
