Welcome to my first-ever mailbag! I don’t just answer questions about our Steelers but that’s definitely the goal. Heck, I’ll answer anything quite frankly! Here’s how you can get involved.

If Banner is able to come back from IR what do the Steelers do at tackle? I think you keep Moore at LT and let Banner and Chuks battle it out for the right side. Now I realize there is only so much practice time allowed for that. With the exception of a few false starts against Denver, I thought Chuks played pretty well. Not a bad dilemma to have though, in my opinion. Thoughts?
Chuks was really good against the Broncos and more specifically Von Miller. Major kudos to the Steelers’ Coaching Staff for giving him another shot a week after Joe Haeg played well enough to probably earn a second start. As for Dan Moore, I think they have to be careful. I wouldn’t want to hurt the rookie’s confidence by replacing him (unless he suddenly gets really bad) so I agree. I’d roll with him. Banner is a better run blocker than Chuks is but I’m not sure he pass protects better. It’s possible Banner returns as the swing tackle to start out.
Assuming this is Ben Roethlisberger’s last season and if the team isn’t sold on Mason Rudolph, do they go with a QB in the first round? Anyone you like yet?
Thanks,
Steve
Rudolph is signed through next year so it’s possible he’s the ‘bridge’ between the Big Ben Era and whomever the rookie is. I have to believe they’ll draft a QB in round one or two. While I haven’t started my evaluation process yet on the draft class, the two guys I really like are Pitt’s Kenny Pickett and Ole Miss’ Matt Corral. I like Pickett’s accuracy and overall moxie while I’m impressed with Corral’s arm and athleticism. I can see either in Black and Gold.
What’s the deal with Anthony McFarland?

Do the Steelers make the Playoffs?
Kim
That’s pretty blunt Kim! As of right now, at 2-3 with the level of injuries we have I’m going to say “no.” That said, nothing would surprise me with a Mike Tomlin team.
