SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Three-Way” Edition

Good Tuesday to You Steelers’ Fans.

You perverts out there can go ahead and move on because this ‘three-way’ isn’t what you’re thinking. In the National Football League, trades are pretty rare. Trades between more than two teams are even more rare but that could be a possibility for the Steelers as they try to move Antonio Brown. I’m told there are still a handful of teams interested in trading for the disgruntled wideout. Of all the teams that have been discussed recently, it sounds like Arizona, Oakland, Washington and Denver could be the most interested. What’s really curious is that Brown could find himself a part of a trade where teams are also trying to position themselves for a quarterback or to move quarterbacks like Derek Carr or Josh Rosen. I believe the Steelers want to get this done prior to the season’s official beginning on March 13th. If any potential deal works better with another team involved then so be it because the goal remains the same; get the best possible deal and move on from Brown.

The Combine wrapped up yesterday with the defensive backs and while guys like Byron Murphy or Greedy Williams performed well, I get the feeling the Steelers won’t feel forced to take one in the first round. They met with several DBs as they always do but it seems like each of the potential round one corners all have some drawbacks. This could certainly change over the next two months though.

Tweet of the Day… Well Dante you’re absolutely right. The Cowboys (as much as I despise them) are doing what is in their best interest. That’s why this is called a business.

You can now hire Antonio Brown through an app called ‘cameo.’ For $500 he’ll give you a personalized video. This further pushes the narrative that AB has blown through his money and he’s doing whatever he can to make some. And for the record I tried to become a ‘cameo talent’ but I didn’t have enough Instagram followers. Apparently. Can someone get me a tissue?

If as is reported, the Chiefs are releasing Justin Houston, I think the Steelers need to kick the tires on him. See what type of contract he’s willing to play for and go from there. Do I see it happening? No, but he’s worth a look.

This is from Ray Fittapaldo’s chat over at post-gazette.com/steelers.

Desert Steeler: Now that Mike Mitchell, Brown, and Bell are gonners, who else might act immature and need to be shown the exit?
Ray Fittipaldo: Morgan Burnett? He already asked to be released.

Fittapaldo is spot on here. Burnett has been rumored to be a bit of a mole during his stint in Pittsburgh. Some of the stuff the NFL Network guys were getting in regards to the locker room is believed to have come from Burnett. I have a hard time seeing him back next year.

Starting to get the feeling the Steelers are very content with their running back situation. If they draft one at all it will be late. That said, I’d like to see someone add some zip to that third RB spot. A guy that can step in occasionally and be a change of pace type player. Stevan Ridley has worn out his welcome.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
