SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Soft Bell” Edition

Good Day to You Steelers’ Fans.

There will eventually come a day when we can once again talk football but apparently that time isn’t here yet. Instead, we are stuck listening to the incessant whining of Antonio Brown and now Le’Veon Bell. “Ben wants to win but he wants to win his way,” said Bell. Correct me if I’m wrong but Ben Roethlisberger has never had a losing season. I’d say his way of winning works just fine. And for Bell to complain about not getting the ball? Are you freaking kidding me? Bell had how many touches in 2017? Give me a damn break. Let’s get to the problem here. Unlike Brown who threw his hissy fit over money, Bell is complaining about Roethlisberger because he was too tough on him. “Ben wants to win his way and that’s tough to play with,” added Bell. Tell ya what Le’Veon, lets do it your way. After all, you’ve got the Super Bowl experience right? You’ve got those deep playoff runs under your belt too huh? Heck, let’s use those 15 plus years of experience winning games you have too… wait. Oh, none of those things fit your career? Maybe you’re just too damn soft and can’t handle an experienced player suggesting what you should do. Have fun with the Jets. You can tell Sam Darnold what to do all you’d like. Then again he might hurt your feelings too. Rant over.

Almost… the fact that ESPN and NFLN picked up on the horrible SI interview and pushed the “It’s Ben’s fault” agenda furthers what we already knew. Don’t worry about actual facts anymore. Just go with what gets attention and let the chips fall where they may. Completely embarrassing.

You DO NOT want to miss CNic’s latest Mock Draft. You may not agree with it but you have to see where he’s coming from.

Tweet of the Day… I thought no one on the team supported the QB though? Isn’t that the narrative?

Mike Hilton is currently an Exclusive Rights Free Agent which means the Steelers pretty much hold the cards in terms of his football future. That said, Hilton would like a new contract and will take a page out of the Alejandro Villanueva playbook to get it. Hilton will not be missing any team activities while actively seeking a new deal. While I respect his approach and appreciate his commitment I’m not sure the Steelers will view his situation the same as they did Big Al’s. I’ve been wrgon before though.

The NFL Draft is Five Weeks From Today!!!

The Steelers are starting to line up some prospect visits now and one intriguing guy is WR Miles Boykin from Notre Dame. Standing 6’4″ and weighing in at 220lbs, Boykin ran a 4.42 forty at the Combine. He could be a mid-round guy who has tons of upside.

The fact that Robert Kraft’s attorney is trying to suppress evidence tells you all you need to know about what those videos of him at the ‘Health Spa’ contain. His image has already taken a beating and it’s likely these videos will only add to that. I hope the judge does the right thing and treats Kraft like anyone else. Wishful thinking I’m sure.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
