SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Playoffs are Here” Edition

by Steeldad

Good day Steelers’ fans!

Sometimes I wonder if we as Steelers’ fans take things for granted. I know I do sometimes. I expect this organization to be in the playoffs and more often than not they come through. But some perspective is needed. There are teams across the NFL that would die for a playoff spot and right or wrong, it has become an expectation for us. It’s important to always remember how difficult making the postseason is.

Miami Head Coach Adam Gase said he will not make a decision on QB Ryan Tannehill until later in the week. I’m not ruling Tannehill out at all but let’s just say I think Matt Moore gets the call.

Isn’t it amazing when you consider Sunday will be the first time Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell take the field together in a playoff game? Really hard to fathom isn’t it?

Lots of speculation about whether Todd Haley will get interviews for any of the open jobs across the league. My guess is that he may take some calls but I think he will likely get a little more money and will stay in Pittsburgh.

Tweet of the Day… Could not agree more Mr. Foote.

Stephon Tuitt has made it clear he’s playing this week. His presence is definitely needed against a Dolphins’ team that ran the ball for over 200 yards against the Steelers the first time around.

Speaking of Mr. Tuitt, congrats to he and his fiance. Tuitt proposed on the turf of Heinz Field

Here are the Steelers’ 2017 opponents. Schedule will be released in the spring.

HOME: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. The Steelers will also host the Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, and Tennessee Titans.

ROAD: Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland. Outside of the division the Steelers will be at the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Kansas City Chiefs.

Initial thoughts: Road games are not overly difficult outside of a trip to Kansas City where the Steelers will play next week. Once again, the Steelers do not have to travel past the Central time Zone. Home schedule is daunting with Patriots, Packers and Vikings.

Have a great Tuesday Steeler Nation!
