Good Friday to you Steelers fans.
Caesar’s and William Hill Sportsbook have posted official expected win totals for the 2021 season. Allow me to examine a couple of things here. First, I don’t understand how these are established before the Draft. Many teams’ fortunes can be altered with just the addition of a few young players so I don’t get that. Secondly, we must remember this is now in a 17-game schedule. The experts have declared that our Pittsburgh Steelers will win nine games in 2021. They face the most difficult schedule in the entire league next season and their division is easily among the most difficult. Significant questions surround the offensive line and running back positions on offense and there are depth issues on defense too. Knowing what you know, where do you stand on nine wins? Will they be over or under?
Tweet of the Day… My gosh this movie brought me so many laughs.

Under the Radar
If you think back to last season at this time it was all about the Ravens and Browns. The Steelers were an afterthought yet started 11-0 and won the division. I don’t need to tell you how things finished but my point in all of this is that what is expected now will change, many times in fact, over the next several months. I don’t know about you, but I much prefer being the hunter and not the hunted. I think Big Ben plays better that way too.
I’m sure many of you have already penciled in Alabama Running Back Najee Harris at pick 24 to the Steelers and I completely understand why. Let me give you some info that could change your mind. First, there’s no guarantee he’s even there at 24. Second, he’s 23 years old and under Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin, they typically take first rounders who are much younger. Lastly, the only running back the Steelers have taken in the first under Colbert/Tomlin was Rashard Mendenhall so it’s not like them to look to that position in the first. All this said, the Steelers and Art Rooney II made it clear they aren’t “rebuilding” so if you can plug a kid like this in right now why wouldn’t you do it? My final mock will be out next week and I honestly still don’t have a feeling yet.
