SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Leftovers” Edition

Good Black Friday to you Steelers’ fans.

As much as I enjoy Thanksgiving I also enjoy today almost as much. For whatever reason the leftovers often taste as good if not better than the day before. Part of that is due to being able whatever you’d like with those. I myself prefer a classic turkey sandwich with mayo and a leaf of lettuce but I’m sure I’ll find room for other things as well. For the Steelers today as was yesterday, is just another day in preparation for the Browns. Pittsburgh did not get the help it wanted in Turkey Day action as Buffalo went to Dallas and won. While my heart is always warmed when the Cowboys lose, the Bills winning puts them in great shape for a wild-card despite a tough closing stretch. As is usually the case, the Steelers are in position to rely on no one but themselves.

Latest Injury Updates

STEELERS

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (Concussion/Knee) – DNP
CB Artie Burns (Knee) – Limited
RB James Conner (Shoulder) – Limited
OT Alejandro Villanueva (Shoulder) – Full
G Ramon Foster (NIR) – DNP
* Smith-Schuster has cleared the concussion protocol

BROWNS

WR Odell Beckham Jr. (Groin) – Limited
TE Demetrius Harris (Neck) – Full
RB Dontrell Hilliard (Knee) – Full
WR KhaDarel Hogde (Achilles) – Full
WR Jarvis Landry (Hip) – Full
DB Eric Murray (Knee) – DNP
OT Greg Robinson (Concussion) – DNP
LB Joe Schobert (Groin) – Limited
DE Olivier Vernon (Knee) – Limited

NOTES… It’s certainly not looking good for JuJu despite clearing concussion protocol… Despite getting in some work I’m not sure James Conner will go either… With no Myles Garrett available Olivier Vernon becomes a big factor. He didn’t play in the first contest and remains a toss-up for Sunday.

JuJu’s Year

This has not been the type of season that JuJu Smith-Schuster probably imagined. He was without Antonio Brown who took much of the coverage away from him, lost his QB in week two and has struggled with injuries. I commented on his recent Instagram post and I’m hopeful this is just all chalked you to a frustrating year.

Have a great Weekend Steeler Nation!
