SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Kinda Gross” Edition

Good Tuesday to you Steelers’ Fans.

Steelers’ linebacker T.J. Watt was recently asked about rookie linebacker Devin Bush. This was not a deeply, in-depth question but rather a “how’s he doing so far?” type of question. Watt had largely positive things to say but one item that caught my attention was when he said that Bush was “quicker than snot.” I immediately took this to mean that the youngster from Michigan was indeed very quick but I thought more about the expression that Watt used because I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever heard that before. I apologize for the gross nature of this topic but considering the Steelers don’t hit the field until today the topics have a run a bit dry. I guess what Watt is saying is that snot is at its’ fastest when the nose is being blown? I mean, most other times it just kind of sits there in our nose doesn’t it? Perhaps I’m putting way too much thought into this but then again, it is the offseason.

Speaking of gross…. Apparently Steelers’ WR Ryan Switzer got a less than stellar meal from a Burgh eatery this week. I believe ‘worms in my steak’ was the phrase used…

The Steelers begin the first day of their three-day mandatory mini-camp today. We’ll have all kinds of news and thoughts from each day of the mini-camp. On a side note, isn’t it nice to have everyone at mini-camp? No contract squabbles or anything like that is very refreshing.

Tweet of the Day… You know a guy is from Detroit when he references Bill Laimbeer!! LOL

Please make sure to check out our SCB online store. We’ve got some cool designs with our logo and some originals featuring JuJu, Mean Joe and more!

Huge congratulations to Arthur Moats who officially announced his retirement after a nine-year NFL career spent in Buffalo and of course Pittsburgh. I have never heard one person say a single negative thing about Moats. He was a tremendous representative of the Steelers and the NFL, worked his tail off and was a constant professional. We wish him the best and have no doubt he has a career in radio and/or TV!

Nice article from Gerry Dulac on Mason Rudolph. If all of this adds up it should equal exactly what we’ve been saying on our podcasts… Rudolph is in line to be the number two and if he isn’t something is seriously wrong.

Kyle Rudolph, the Minnesota tight end, has signed a four-year $36 million extension to stay with the Vikings. His name has been tossed around as a guy the Steelers could potentially look at to help fill the void currently at tight end. Scratch that name from the list.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
