Good day Steelers’ Fans! TGIF!
Well, that critter in Pennsylvania saw his shadow yesterday which means six more weeks of winter. Considering his success rate around 60% does it really matter???
The Steelers continued signing guys that were highly thought to be back with the team in the first place this week. Joining Roosevelt Nix and Cobi Hamilton was kicker Chris Boswell who was an exclusive rights free agent. With veteran Greg Warren already re-signed to do the long-snapping again and Jordan Berry still under contract, that means all of the specialists are taken care of. Might not sound like a big deal but having all of those positions taken care of this early is one less headache you have to deal with.
I’m having a very hard time picking a winner for Super Bowl LI. Mainly it’s because I really don’t care. Well, that’s not true. I don’t want New England to win. I like the speed of the Atlanta offense but I’m not convinced that the Falcons’ defense is good enough to stop the Patriots. Huge coaching advantage as well with New England. I’ll take the Pats to cover, 31-24.
Huge shout-out to Dr. Brent Shealer for sponsoring ‘Quick Hitters’ all season. He’s a great follow on Twitter @drbrent.
Tweet of the Day… If you missed DeAngelo Williams this morning on ‘Mike and Mike,’ you missed his “Pizza-styled” sneakers. (He’s pitching for Pizza Hut right now)
Literally thought Golic was gonna try eating my Pizza Hut shoes on Mike & Mike, but thankfully he didn't! ?? pic.twitter.com/ontHy9rrZq

I wouldn’t be surprised to see James Harrison head into the summer months without a contract with the Steelers. I think he is with the Steelers by the time camp rolls around in August but I think the Steelers will take their time especially with free agency and the draft still on the horizon.
Sometimes I think fans, especially those who have never really been involved with an athletic locker room, don’t understand just how unique that environment is. For instance, some Steelers’ fans think the locker room is supposed to be this utopia where the players get along and everyone is happy. Even the greatest teams in football history had guys who didn’t get along but they were able to set that aside for the benefit of the team’s success. Much of this comment stems from Antonio Brown’s Facebook antics and the response. An NFL locker room is often a melting pot of different cultures and beliefs and if they can’t get on the same page that’s when issues happen.
Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
