Good Draft Day Thursday to you Steelers fans.

After months of evaluation, poking, prodding, investigating, talking and anything else you can think of the 2023 NFL Draft has finally arrived. Now if you want to look at the Pittsburgh Steelers upcoming odds before the draft then go right ahead. Rest assured however, things will likely change over the next three days as the team looks to better itself ahead of the 2023 season. Below you will find just about everything we’ve published over the last few months leading up to the Draft. We’ve got player profiles, special articles, historical stuff and much more. If you’re looking for wild predictions from me regarding tonight, I wish I could provide them. What I know is that the Steelers have invested tremendous time in offensive linemen, cornerbacks and defensive linemen as well. Should the Steelers remain at 17 I think it’s fair to say “anything is possible.” Do I think a trade up is going to happen? I’d put it at better than 50/50. If Broderick Jones of Paris Johnson is still available at nine then I think those odds get better. If one of those guys is still there at say, 13 or 14? Then I can almost guarantee they’ll move up. The real intrigue may center around the 32nd pick. Both Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan were not shy about the fact they enjoy being in that position and will be answering phones constantly as teams try to move up after round one has ended. But… Should the Steelers not move up from 17, keep in mind that all important fifth-year option for first rounders could entice them to trade back into the first as well. In other words, there’s a lot to look forward to tonight!

What We’re Hearing

First of all, if you’re interested in betting on tonight’s NFL Draft then you’ll have plenty of company. Las Vegas and online sportsbooks are expecting record turnout tonight for the event… When you examine the activity of our coaching staff during the Pro Days and with the personal visits, I have a hard time believing that offensive tackle isn’t the top target tonight. The problem – as it always is – is that the Steelers have very little control over what happens in front of them. This means that literally anyone is a possibility… I will be very surprised if Dawand Jones becomes a Steeler. He chose not to work out at his Pro Day and many of the reports have questioned just how much he loves playing football… The addition of Allen Robinson has raised questions about whether the Steelers will draft a WR this weekend. I still think they will and I would not be surprised if it happens on Day Two… Jayden Reed or Jonathan Mingo are the two names to watch… While I agree the Steelers have to add to their QB room I’m not so sure they draft one. If they trade down and gather a pick in the fifth or sixth round then the odds go up on this… Steve Avila is a name to watch. He can play guard or center and he does both well. Don’t be surprised if he becomes a Steeler… There are several mid-to-late round safeties the Steelers are allegedly interested in. Keep an eye on that. We’ve heard for weeks that the Steelers really like Tennessee OT Darnell Wright. The question is whether they take him at 17 which most believe is too high or do they wait until 32 where most believe he’ll already be gone.
