SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 3/28/16

by Steeldad

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

A day after they had offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz in town the Steelers then welcomed former Penn State star Stephen Wisniewski. While Schwartz is more likely to sign because of less money, Wisniewski is more durable and would be an upgrade over Cody Wallace should something happen to Maurkice Pouncey. Right now I think Wisniewski is just going to want to much money.

We are now just over a month out from the NFL Draft and it’s hard to deny the infatuation the Steelers have for Houston cornerback William Jackson III. Several media folks who were there for his pro day said the Steelers’ brass couldn’t hide their ‘like’ for him. Be careful here Steelers’ fans, this is often where the curveball comes in.

While I’m no fan of players getting too ridiculous on social media, I have to agree with Le’Veon Bell who scoffed at the notion the running back tandem in Tampa Bay was better than he and DeAngelo Williams. Based on what we saw last year, I think what the Steelers have is the best in the game. Just sayin.’

Tweet of the Day…. How could I resist posting this?

Look for Chris’ write-up on cornerback Harlan Miller. Small-school kid but we both like what he offers.

A second round defensive lineman I like is Kenny Clark of UCLA. I wouldn’t say he’s “great” at any one thing but I think he’s “good” at a multitude of things.

ICYMI the Steelers signed inside linebacker and special teamer Steven Johnson to a one-year deal. He helps fill the void left by the departures of Sean Spence and Terence Garvin in free agency.

Have a great Monday Steeler Nation!
