These are the dog days… These are the days when I’m so tired of talking about who the Steelers are going to draft and why… that I’m just desperately in need of something else to discuss.
Thankfully, the National Football League schedule will be released some time next week and after seeing our friends at www.stillcurtain.com give this a shot I thought what the heck?
Obviously this isn’t rocket science because we already know the opponents and where the games will be played. The hard part is trying to figure out how the NFL schedule makers will lay out the 17 weeks of the Steelers’ season.
Here’s my best guess at what we can expect later this coming week when the schedule is released.
Week 1: @New England*
Week 2: Cleveland
Week 3: @Seattle*
Week 4: @Cincinnati
Week 5: BYE WEEK
Week 6: Indianapolis
Week 7: Arizona*
Week 8: @St. Louis
Week 9: Baltimore*
Week 10: @Kansas City
Week 11: San Francisco
Week 12: @San Diego
Week 13: Cincinnati
Week 14: Oakland
Week 15: @Cleveland
Week 16: Denver*
Week 17: @Baltimore
* = Thursday, Sunday or Monday night game
Other than Philadelphia or Buffalo, I just don’t see anyone else on opening night against the Patriots.
I also think you’ll see five primetime games and that could grow to six if the finale is for a playoff spot.
