SCB Steelers Training Camp Tidbits Day Six

by Steeldad

Welcome to the new Steel City Blitz Steelers Training Camp Tidbits presented by Taps N’At! This is a brand new feature this year and every single day from now until the end of Camp you’ll see tidbits right here. Our goal is simple; provide you with everything we are seeing, hearing and learning from St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

If you’re going….

Steelers Practice for Monday: 255pm ET

Latrobe Weather for Monday: Rainy and a high of 76. (Pay close attention today because the Steelers will often hold practice inside if the weather is really bad.)

It’s so easy to get caught up with some players who have great moments in Training Camp for numerous reasons so I always try to take big plays and great practices for rookies with a grain of salt. Terrell Edmunds, who has already signed more autographs than any Steeler, is starting to look like the first round pick the Steelers selected. Not only has he picked off Ben Roethlisberger but perhaps just as importantly, he seems to be on the right page most of the time. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN said that Edmunds credits his strong play so far in Camp with his ability to get into the playbook as quickly and as well as he has. Again, I’m not going to start support his Hall of Fame candidacy just yet but so far, Edmunds is impressing.

Ramon Foster, who will not miss as much time as originally feared with a bone bruise and MCL sprain, was joined by several other players in the MASH unit after practice yesterday. I stress… None of these are thought to be serious. Vance McDonald has a foot injury while T.J. Watt left with a hamstring issue. Sean Davis did something to his groin and JuJu Smith-Schuster had an undisclosed ailment.

Have you been to Taps N’At after camp yet? Why not?? Great food, great people and cold beer!! 152 N. Bank St in Derry! Happy Hour 4-6.

After a rather tough start in Camp Mason Rudolph has progressively looked better and that’s good. What you aren’t hearing as of right now are all of those screaming that he’ll be the backup this year. Now that may eventually happen but it isn’t a cake walk and those that thought it would haven’t paid attention to the NFL.

Artie Burns is having a nice camp and working against Antonio Brown every day will make you better because AB will run you ragged. Burns needs a good camp and a good season after slipping a bit last year.

James Conner is looking solid. He appears to have no problem cutting on that injured knee.

On to the stairway to seven!

TAPS N’AT!!
