In the first full week of WPIAL football, we were treated to some outstanding matchups. A number of historic rivalries and former conference foes went head-to-head. A total of FIVE games went to overtime with two going to double overtime. On this week’s show, we interviewed Mars Head Coach Eric Kasperowicz who took over the Fighting Planets program this spring. Kasperowicz was a highly successful coach at Pine-Richland, winning four WPIAL Championships and two State Championships. He was an assistant coach at Pitt last year before coming back to the high school ranks at Mars. Check out our interview with Coach Kasper and the rest of this week’s show:

Our Player of the Week from Week 1 was McKeesport RB/LB Bobbie Boyd. In a showdown against defending 5A State Champions Penn-Trafford, Boyd ran for 152 yards and 3 TDs and had 3 interceptions on defense. You can follow his Twitter and Hudl pages. Check out his highlights from Week 1.
