Some questions and comments have been edited for length or clarity.

With word that Dotson is out for a few weeks, do you think Green should slide over and play Guard?  Similar to what Pouncey had to do a few years back.  I know the Steelers want him at Center,  but put Hassenhauer in at C and let Green play a position he is obviously familiar with and see what happens.  Just a thought.

Bill

What you’re suggesting makes sense to me. Hassenauer doesn’t move as well as Green so plug him in at center and let the more athletic Green play guard. The problem is that I believe the Steelers are all-in on Green being their center for the next decade. They want to give him every opportunity work towards that and moving him away from that could be detrimental. From my perspective, if Green were better at in-line blocking I would consider it but I don’t think Mike Tomlin will go here.

Can we finally put the “Mason is the future QB” stories to bed?

Doug

I sure think so… The same problems that Rudy had when he entered the NFL still exist today. He has heavy feet in the pocket, doesn’t possess the arm strength needed for big time throws and he just doesn’t read defenses well. He will always be a viable backup option and spot starter to me but he was never going to be a starter in my opinion. This doesn’t mean he can’t put up numbers as evidenced in last year’s finale at Cleveland. But watch those throws and see how often he actually “throws receivers open.” That is an absolute must for an NFL QB and he just doesn’t do it.

I took this question to the person it was directed to knowing full well I would get some smart ass comment. SteelMom did not disappoint. Her response, “It’s not easy. In fact it’s very hard dealing with you on a daily basis.”

With the questions surrounding Devin Bush’s play and his effort is he in danger of not getting a fifth year option?

Greg

We actually discussed this on the podcast last night and I think it’s incredibly possible. I don’t want to pile on the guy because everyone comes back from injury a little differently than the next person but something is 100% not right with his play right now. If this trend continues I don’t see the team even considering the option.

thanks to all! Keep them coming!
