Some questions and comments have been edited for length or clarity.

Is Alex Highsmith living up to all the hype in your opinion? I’m not sure I share the same sense others do about his success.

Jimmy

I’ve got to be careful here. When it comes to the run game I think he’s done a very solid job of learning how to anchor the edge. Sure, he gets beat or caught inside sometimes but T.J. Watt does too. I think the bigger question you and many others are asking pertains more to his pass rushing. Not going to lie, it needs to get better. Through seven games he has 1.5 sacks and in my opinion that isn’t enough. His QB pressures and tackles for loss are ahead of last year’s pace though which is good. In order to take pressure off of Watt he has to get to the QB more often to keep teams from doubling Watt as often as they are now.

Very funny Mike. If you older folks don’t know about Troy Edwards then go ahead and search him up… Actually my favorite piece of memorabilia is a game-worn cleat from Ben Roethlisberger. He also autographed it. I have many other cool items but that one gets the most attention in my Fortress of Steelertude.

Contrary to popular belief, I’m typically the one who isn’t buzzed! I have the responsibility of running the show so I have to stay somewhat coherent. Now Ben and Ian and Ellie can drink all they want and they usually do.

Please tell me we aren’t losing to Detroit (asked in various forms and often with four-letter words).

About 25 different people this week.

I always appreciate the short, to the point type of questions. Did you see what happened in Miami last night? Did you see how awful we looked in the second half last week? Hell yes we can lose to the Lions. Turn the ball over, give them short fields, poor tackling… It can certainly happen. It shouldn’t but it could.
