With the NFL Draft closing in, it’s high time for me to get busy on my second Steelers’ Mock Draft of 2025. As I do every year, I take the approach of what I believe the Steelers will do in the Draft rather than what I would do. Here we go with Mock 2.0
Round 1 (Pick 31) – Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
*Steelers Trade the 21st and 83rd picks in the 2025 Draft. In return, Kansas City trades picks number 31 and 63 plus a 2026 Second Rounder.
With this trade the Steelers accomplish a couple of things. First, they get back a second rounder that they traded to Seattle for D.K. Metcalf, they fill a huge need at defensive tackle and they pick up another second rounder for next year. Grant has a tremendous motor and no man his size should be able to move as well as he does. He has the capability to fill numerous roles along the defensive front.
Mock 1.0: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
(Trade with KC) Round 2 (Pick 63) – Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
I like what the Steelers have in Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell but they still need a pounder and a more dynamic guy who can carry the load when necessary. Judkins is a physical runner who possesses excellent athleticism as well. His vision could stand to improve a bit but his overall skillset is too much to pass up here
(Traded to KC) Round 3 (Pick 83)
Mock 1.0: Jack Bech, WR, TCU
Round 4 (Pick 123) – Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas
Bryant falls to the Steelers here again… The length, ball-hawking ability and willingness to play physical against the run is too much to pass up. With Darius Slay on board, Bryant gets time to learn while working his way into some packages.
Mock 1.0: Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas
Round 5 (Pick 156) – Rylie Mills, DT, Notre Dame
Mills is an excellent pass rusher who will need to work on his leverage skills and overall abilities against the run. There’s a chance he could be one of those guys plays all over the defensive line. He’s one of the better tacklers among D-Linemen in this draft as well.
Mock 1.0: Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
Round 6 (185) – Ricky White, WR, UNLV
White has decent size at 6’1″ and 185lbs. He excels as a route runner and has great understanding of how to find space in zones. He should be able to play inside or outside in the Steelers’ offense.
Mock 1.0: Tim Smith, DT, Alabama
Round 7 (Pick 229) – Dante Trader Jr, S, Maryland
One of the nation’s top lacrosse players coming out of high school, Trader, Jr played the game for the Terps until 2024 before he started to focus on football. He’s an above average athlete who is unafraid to bring physicality to the game. He’s shown solid versatility by lining up at numerous places on the defense. I see him as an immediate Special Teams contributor.
Mock 1.0: Jacob Gideon, C/G, Western Michigan
