Happy Monday Steelers’ Fans!
Now that things have settled down a bit since the release of Ladarius Green, it’s time to put some serious thought into what the Steelers’ plan to do. Jesse James is a ‘#2′ NFL tight end. Can he be a #1? I have my doubts because of his blocking is not always up to par especially his in-line blocking. Xavier Grimble is a nice receiving threat but he does not block well at all. David Johnson is essentially a fullback playing tight end so yes he can block but is not a receiving threat. And for the next person that suggests that JuJu Smith-Schuster become a tight end please stop reading this and seek help. Do not be surprised if the Steelers inquire about tight ends through the summer. That doesn’t mean they’ll break the bank to get one but I honestly don’t know how comfortable they are with James. This team after all will continue to use ’11’ personnel regardless.
Congratulations to one-time Steeler Myron Rolle who officially graduated from Medical school this past weekend. As Coach Noll used to say, “It’s time to get on with your life’s work” and Rolle has done that away from football.
Here’s my question for Calvin Johnson, the former Lions’ all-pro receiver who said this weekend he wasn’t pleased with how he was treated by the Lions when he left, “What were you expecting???” The Lions NEVER won a single playoff game with Johnson and while that isn’t entirely his fault he shouldn’t be acting as if he deserved some formal ceremony on the way out. Sorry Megatron but those are reserved for guys who win and bring home championships.
Tweet of the Day… Great photo of former Steeler Mike Logan, kids and extended family.

Huge congrats to Son of SteelDad whose U13 soccer team won the Cherry Cup Tournament in Traverse City, MI this weekend. He made two key stops in a semi-final shootout to save the day. I had no idea how much stress the parents of a goalkeeper have.
Saw some discussion this past week about the Steelers’ greatest running back. That discussion will always begin and end with Franco Harris. Some people don’t want to hear that for two reasons. One, they never saw him play and two, they don’t like the stance he’s taken in defending Joe Paterno in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky Scandal. You have to look at the player, not the man.
Have a great week Steeler Nation!
