Good Monday Gameday to you Steelers’ Fans!
One of the things that drive me crazy each spring when the NFL schedule is released is how we all rush to predict a record. It bothers me because there are so many things that can happen not just before the season but during as well. Several weeks ago it looked like the Steelers would have relatively easy games against Cincinnati and Baltimore. Suddenly there are injuries to deal with and the Ravens are getting hot at the right time. Throw in the streaking Patriots and suddenly the Steelers have a three game stretch that’s going to be anything but easy.
Rob Gronkowski’s deliberate hit on Buffalo’s Tre’Davious White was as pathetic as anything I’ve seen in some time. I would rank it right up there with just about anything Vontaze Burfict has done. While he was flagged, Gronkowski should have been ejected. I have no doubt the NFL will completely botch his pending punishment however.
Antonio Brown will be a game-time decision tonight. As of this writing, the Steelers expect him to play.

Tweet of the Day… Dave DiCello never fails to impress.

Who has to have a big game tonight? Rob Golden. He has to play well and get guys into position. Failures to do so will result in big plays for the Bengals.
As I wrote in this week’s game preview the “Three-Point Stance,” I expect Le’Veon Bell to get plenty of touches tonight. The Bengals are near the bottom in run defense and this is football which means you keep it simple. Being the smartest guy in the room is not as important as winning games. And yes, I’m looking at you Todd Haley.
Tackling has to be better this week. Yes, it’s a broken record for sure but the Steelers give up way too many yards because of missed tackles, especially of the open-field variety.
I hate Monday Night games. How in the hell am I supposed to focus on work when my team is playing tonight??? Don’t people understand the anxiety involved here? And furthermore, if your team plays on MNF you should automatically receive Tuesday off.
Enjoy the game tonight Steeler Nation!
