Good Thursday to you Steelers fans.
With less than three weeks to go until the start of most NFL Training Camps, the overwhelming dearth of “preview and prediction” magazines (both in print and online) are starting to hit all of us. These are worth… absolutely nothing. Already I’ve seen the Pittsburgh Steelers predicted to have “their worst season in decades.” Yet at the same time I’ve seen pundits suggest, “Don’t sleep on the Steelers!” Predictions and previews make money and they generate clicks. Am I a hypocrite? Hell yes I am! I’ll have plenty of articles that preview the Steelers and at some point we’ll be posting our annual predictions. So what’s the difference? The difference is that we won’t mind telling you how awful our predictions were because I guarantee you we’ll have some misses. Most national experts will either dismiss their erroneous prognostications for one reason or another or change their pick half way through the season. In other words, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. That won’t stop me however from telling you I’ve been within one game of the Steelers’ final record for the last five years. I think…

The Podcast
Episode 276 of the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc will record tonight. Scarps returns tonight while Ian takes the night off for new Daddy duty. We hope that Miss Ellie Finnerty will stop by because it’s been far too long and I’m sure she has some thoughts on the Steelers and much more.
A Number One?
A week or two ago I wrote about how I don’t view the Steelers as having a true number one cornerback. Most I’ve talked to think Cam Sutton is as close to that as anyone and I’d probably agree. Ask yourself this however, how much would you trust Sutton to go man up on Ja’Marr Chase, Tyreek Hill or Devante Adams? I’m pretty certain I’d be as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. That’s not a knock on Sutton because there aren’t many I’d trust against those guys but a true number one is given that opportunity. The Steelers can be quite successful regardless.
