TGIF Steelers’ Fans!
Depending on who you listen to, Mike Tomlin has apparently decided to sit Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell Sunday against Cleveland. I think Maurkice Pouncey will be added to that list and perhaps a few others. Let me state that I don’t like this decision. First, Big Ben is a guy who thrives on rhythm and not taking a meaningful snap for three weeks will crush the positive flow he’s built over the last month. Despite the Patriots being overwhelming favorites against the Jets, I think it’s wrong to just assume they will win and clinch the AFC’s too seed. I’d much rather start my guys as usual and if the Pats do in fact take a significant lead in their game then pull them. Downplaying the number one seed as Tomlin seems to be doing flies in the face of everything the Steelers were about just two weeks ago when New England came to town. So suddenly having home-field advantage doesn’t mean what it did then? I realize there are other opinions and I respect those. I just think keeping my best players as tuned up as possible is the best option.
I’ve exhausted myself talking about James Harrison. Time to move on.
Congratulations to JuJu Smith-Schuster who won the Joe Greene Award as the Steelers’ top rookie. Congrats also go out to David DeCastro who was awarded as the best player with the media.

This week would have been a great opportunity for James Conner to get a full load at running back. With him out for the season Fitzgerald Toussaint and recently acquired Stevan Ridley will get the work.
I think it’s very possible that Cam Heyward will earn All-Pro honors without making the Pro Bowl. Further proof of just how bad the Pro Bowl voting is and how Under-appreciated 3-4 defensive ends are.
It’s curious to me when I see fans complaining about other fans complaining about a team that’s 12-3. I don’t see this as complaining at all. Regular season records are fine. You need a good one to get to the playoffs, but I’m looking at what this team needs to do to WIN in the postseason. The argument is always “you could be the (insert shitty team here) so stop bitching.” Um, no. I look at the Steelers and I look for what this team needs to do to get a Super Bowl title. Other teams’ fans are talking about how to get to 8-8. If you can’t see the difference then I don’t know what to tell you.
Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
