SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “One Busy Day” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans.

For the offseason, yesterday was filled with different goings on for our Black and Gold. From Maurice Pouncey and JuJu Smith-Schuster talking ‘AB’ to Art Rooney II confirming that contract talks were underway with Big Ben it was definitely one busy day for the Steelers.

Both Pouncey and JJSS believe that Antonio Brown will be back in 2019. They both believe that time will heal a lot of wounds and Pouncey went so far as to claim the whole episode where Brown allegedly threw a ball towards he and Ben Roethlisberger never happened. I’d like to believe both things are true. I hope fences are mended and that the alleged incident never took place. But the ball right now remains in the court of Brown. It’s been over three weeks since he spoke to his coach and his boss. At some point that will need to change.

As far as Roethlisberger, on a call with fans, ARII admitted the team was working on an extension for the QB. This should surprise no one. He set career highs in TD passes and yards and missed only some time in the Oakland game. An extension also clears out some cap space and sets the table for him to perhaps play into his 40’s as ARII recently stated. I pondered earlier this week what this could mean for Mason Rudolph.

Tweet of the Day… I have a quite a beard going but noting like Brett’s!

We have a great podcast planned for tonight. Rick Holman, a huge Steelers’ fan who is up for membership in the Ford Fan Hall of Fame will join us at the beginning of the show. If you think you’re the Steelers’ number one fan then you need to listen!

Ian is looking ahead already to the 2019 schedule. Could the Steelers once again play in the Thursday night opener?

Completely random thought here… I don’t like Barstool Sports.

Two players I’ve seen ‘mocked’ to the Steelers are Alabama LB Mack Wilson and Florida OLB Jachai Polite. Both are super athletic but there are off-field issues that also hover over each. Based on the Steelers’ recent drafts I can’t see either guy being selected.

And because I know you’re dying to know this…. Antonio Brown unfollowed the 49ers on Instagram. I think I speak for all of us when I say… WHO CARES?

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
