Good Wednesday to you Steelers’ Fans.
Many football fans, or shall I say, Madden football fans are all in a tizzy this time of year as player ratings begin to come out. Honestly I wonder who cares more, the fans or the actual players themselves? As a lifelong fan of Tecmo Bowl and then the Madden series I get it. I really do. I could have only dreamed as a younger person to have had the overall gameplay experience now offered to players. But much like fantasy football players who argue over value and everything else associated with the venture, Madden fans often enjoy the debate that is the ratings. “He’s too high. He’s too low. He’s a rookie, he doesn’t deserve that rating!” These are some of the comments heard this time of year. I’m almost to the point where I think EA Sports purposefully rates guys lower or higher simply to create conversation. I suppose that’s a stretch but I’m just not that invested in it to this level. The fact I’m even commenting on it here is probably enough to make me smack my own head with a PS4 remote.

This will be a really biased take here because I hate the Dallas Cowboys but I also think it’s fair. If I were them I’d be very cautious with two things. First, there’s discussion about them making Dak Prescott the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. QB salaries are already out of control but I don’t see Prescott anywhere near the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks. Secondly is Ezekiel Elliott. He’s another guy who is in line for a big pay day yet off-field behavior is starting to become an issue. I’m of the opinion that without Elliott, Prescott is even more average but is Elliott, who is a very good running back, worth the money? And you thought the Steelers were the only team with issues???
