SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “JuJu Do” Edition

Good Wednesday to you Steelers’ fans.

Sometimes my lack of creativity haunts me when I’m looking for a title each morning so sometimes these just aren’t as good as others. This one actually makes sense though. This weekend is looking good for JuJu Smith-Schuster to do his thing on the football field and that’s something we haven’t seen in awhile. I’m going to follow Mike Tomlin’s lead here and simply say that “his availability will be the guide” as to whether or not he plays. But I do think his presence is necessary considering the three defenses the Steelers will face in the final weeks of the season. As we all know this hasn’t been the type of season JuJu had expected. Losing his quarterback was a poor start and then the fumble in overtime of the Baltimore game and injuries pretty much made 2019 a season to forget. The great thing about the NFL is that each week brings new beginnings for even the biggest of stars and that’s exactly what we need to see from JuJu this Sunday.

The Podcast

We are back with the Steel City Blitz Steelers Podcast presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh tonight and as usual there is much to discuss. From the win and performance of Diontae Johnson to the latest big day by the defense we’ll cover it all and man.

Tweet of the Day… This is a from a Raider but I think it carries significant weight. If you’re tweeting at players because of the effect they have on your fantasy team’s success then you seriously need some help.

Color. Rush.

The Steelers announced yesterday that they will be wearing their ‘color rush’ uniforms on Sunday night against the Bills. Not only are the uniforms ridiculously awesome but the Steelers are also unbeaten in them if I’m not mistaken…. 5-0 actually:)

Draft Talk?

Dale Lolley of DK on Pittsburgh Sports and Steelers Nation Radio tweeted yesterday that he doesn’t understand why people are writing about offseason needs and the draft with the Steelers in the midst of a playoff run. I understand his point but I also don’t know if he’s seeing the forest through the trees. The NFL Draft is now a 365-day process not just for teams but for those who cover those teams and the players entering the draft. It is an extension of the NFL itself. The league used to be in the news from season’s beginning to season’s end and then it would go on hiatus. That is no longer the truth and it’s not even close. It is literally a 12-month operation now draft talk really shouldn’t be any different.

A Final Thought on the Latest “Videotaping”

We now know the Patriots’ film crew was taping staff members for their “Do Your Job” documentary which airs each week and profiles someone in the organization. Why the crew filmed the Bengals’ sideline for eight minutes is in question and for those who claim “everything is done over the headset and helmet now” you’d be wrong. Teams often have communication from the sidelines in a variety of ways in those 15 seconds where the audio is cut off from coach to player. But the real question here might be this; if Bill Belichick has his hands on literally everything in the organization isn’t it odd that he had “no knowledge of any of this?”

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
