Good Thursday to you Steelers’ fans.
While the National Football League will not have to worry about it’s season being postponed or cancelled (at least not right now) the timing is still somewhat bad. The Draft itself is seven or so weeks away which may be enough time to get us through this coronavirus nightmare. But in the ‘now,’ the virus is impacting scouting. The Steelers are allowed to have up to 30 prospective draftees come in for visits and that may be hampered. Pittsburgh also needs to get to Pro Days across the country too and those are no doubt being impacted as well. The NBA and NCAA is dealing with much more in terms of games being lost and perhaps more importantly, money being lost. But this virus is clearly making a mess for the NFL as well.
Boise Duo
The Steelers will be meeting with both Curtis Weaver, an outside backer and with Ezra Cleveland, an offensive tackle both from Boise State. You can read my prospect profile of Weaver right here. I do NOT believe either of these men is in play for the Steelers at pick 49 but with their Comp pick at 102? Perhaps.
Tweet of the Day… Starting to wonder if this won’t apply to myself very soon.

The New League Year
The NFL announced a short time ago that they will NOT be pushing back the start of the 2020 league year. This comes up in less than a week and is often highly anticipated by fans. What is much more likely to be altered is the Draft. Granted, it’s still a ways out but in terms of the amount of people in close proximity that takes the cake over free agency and the like.
Scouting
According to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, the Steelers are not removing anyone from the field. Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert were spotted at Clemson’s Pro Day and they, along with other scouts will continue as normal until they hear otherwise.
Seriously?
There are many “Where do the top free agents go” lists this time of year and Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic has one that suggests Jameis Winston will come to Pittsburgh. What part of “Hardly any cap room” do these national writers not understand? It’s going to be difficult enough as is (new CBA or not) to hang onto Bud Dupree but this guy wants to bring in Jameis? He isn’t going to play for a coupe of pounds of crab legs from Giant Eagle for crying out loud. Some other moves would have to be made for this to even have a chance.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
