Good Tuesday to you Steelers’ fans.
As most of you know the Pittsburgh Steelers will not be having Training Camp this year at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. This ends a 53-year run and brings a lot of disappointment to Steeler Nation. There could, and I stress the term “could,” be a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Public Relations Boss Burt Lauten said yesterday the Steelers will hold Camp at Heinz Field. This could mean some fans are allowed in to watch but I don’t see any way they are allowed to interact with players as is the norm in Latrobe. For the players, the hardships of living in cramped dorm rooms without the usual amenities they are used to are gone. This year will be much more like “glamping” instead of camping. If you aren’t familiar, this is like going camping but instead of “living off the land” you probably have an air conditioned RV or cabin. Thus, “glamorous camping.” Its likely the players will have the ability to sleep at home each night if Camp which is something that would have been blasphemy in any other time. These aren’t any other times though. Stay tuned for the latest on whether fans will be allowed in or not.

Someone Signing Kaepernick…
Running Back Carlos Hyde suggested yesterday that an NFL team signing Colin Kaepernick would go a long way towards showing the commitment to racial justice Roger Goodell mentioned last week. While I’m sure that’s true, Kaepernick hasn’t played since 2017 and his numbers weren’t exactly great to begin with. Is he better than some QBs currently under contract right now? Probably. Perhaps this happens but I’m leaning towards “no.”
I can’t tell you or anyone else how to feel regarding the kneeling and/or protesting that is sure to come when the NFL season finally begins. I’ve talked to and heard from people on both sides of the issue and it all boils down to one thing; YOU! Your past experiences and behaviors will guide your decision whether to keep watching the Steelers and the NFL. I’m not going anywhere and I hope you stick around too but that’s up to you.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
