Good Monday to you Steelers’ fans.
Free agency in 2020 is still not a week old. It officially started last Wednesday yet there are many already handing out grades. My question to that is how? How can anyone hand out a “grade” when free agency isn’t over? How can anyone give a grade when none of these newly acquired players have even played a snap with their new teams yet? If you go back to last year, you’ll recall how many people loved the Steelers’ signing of Mark Barron. We saw how that worked out as Barron isn’t even on the roster any longer. Did the Steelers address areas of need over the last week? Absolutely and that’s exactly what you have to do during free agency. Derek Watt, Eric Ebron, Stefen Wisniewski and the trade for Chris Wormley were all acquisitions that were needed. The problem is of course that we haven’t seen any of them in the Black and Gold yet and to me, giving them a grade doesn’t make sense. Just like I don’t grade a draft the day after I don’t grade free agency until I see them in action with the Steelers.
