Good Friday to you Steelers fans.
You probably already know this but trades in the video game “Madden 22” are not the same as they are in the real NFL. Shocking I know, but I find it often needs to be said. In as much as young people learn what a cover 2 defense is they also claim to learn how to trade and sign players in free agency. Madden is obviously a great resource for many things but it can sometimes lead us to believe things that just aren’t realistic. As the NFL trade deadline (11/2) nears, many wonder if the Pittsburgh Steelers will be active. Let me say this; the Steelers are always active. Whether they make a trade or not is another thing. In my opinion, they should be looking for defensive line help. Stephon Tuitt seems like he’s still a ways off from returning. Tyson Alualu is still recovering from surgery for his broken ankle too. Despite winning Sunday Night, the Pittsburgh run defense was gashed. Alex Collins had over 80 yards in the second half. They have to shore this up if they are going to try and be serious about making the postseason. Other areas of concern could be slot receiver, cornerback or offensive line too. Will they make a trade? I doubt it simply because they don’t have much in the way of late round picks right now but time will tell.

I see many fans already saying “If we lose to the Browns with that many injuries….” May I remind you the Browns beat us in Pittsburgh in January with their Head Coach in his basement. Furthermore, Case Keenum isn’t your average backup. He has extensive starting experience and led a team to the NFC Title game. As the Browns proved last night, their offensive line is still formidable and their defense, much maligned in recent weeks, will still be a challenge. My advice? Enjoy the bye week right now because there’s plenty of time for Browns’ talk coming.
