SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Cowboy Carousel” Edition

by Steeldad

Good Wednesday to you Steelers fans.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, what with all this political stuff going on, the Dallas Cowboys have a problem. They do not have Dak Prescott available. They do not have Andy Dalton available either. Ben DiNucci, who started in their loss to Philly doesn’t appear to be the answer… So apparently the Cowboys will be turning to either Garrett Gilbert or Cooper Rush. This is EXACTLY where this carousel ride starts to scare the crap out of me. At 7-0, the Steelers will visit Jerry World coming off two very physical games that both came down to the final seconds. Now they get a Cowboys team decimated by injury and poor play and this has all the makings of a game that terrifies me to no end. If you’ve been a Steelers’ fan long enough then you’ve seen this horror movie before. “Good Steelers team plays poorly against inexperienced QB and loses.” I shudder at the thought. This version of the Black and Gold seems different however and I’m hopeful that’s exactly why it won’t matter who the Dallas QB is come Sunday.

Congrats!

The NFL announced this morning that Steelers’ Defensive Lineman Stephon Tuitt is the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in the win over Baltimore. Well done!

Tweet of the Day… This needed to be said.

On the Injury Front

Both Derek Watt and Mike Hilton have good shots at playing this week. Cam Heyward also has a chance to suit up as well. Tyson Alualu is likely out a couple of weeks with a minor knee injury so as I wrote yesterday, the D-Line is of some concern to me.

Sock It to Me

Both James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster were fined $5,000 for not having their socks pulled up sufficiently high enough. Regardless of what I think them’s the rules! The National Football League has very strict uniform requirements but it seems to me the one thing they completely overlooked was the fact that many players, wide receivers and DBs especially, are essentially wearing bicycle shorts now. When is the last time you saw the pans actually go below the knee??

Our Stuff

If you’d like to get some of our stuff you can visit DC4L for tees and hoodies and RedBubble for decals, stickers and even masks!!

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
