The Steelers are back to a somewhat normal work week with a Monday night game in San Diego. They will practice today from 1045am to 1230pm.
It will probably be hard to tell without Ben Roethlisberger, but don’t be surprised if Martavis Bryant, who returns from his four-game suspension, will be ready to rip some heads off.
There’s not a lot I can tell you about new kicker Chris Boswell. He played in college at Rice University where his career field goal accuracy percentage was 76 or 51 of 67. He has never attempted a field goal in the National Football League and was cut last season by the Houston Texans after signing as a free agent.

If you’re wondering about Brandon Boykin, I’ve been told by two different sources now that his lack of playing time is because the team wants to keep him under the 60% of snaps required for the traded pick to become a fourth pick. Boykin is allegedly on board with it which seems extremely odd and I just can’t buy it.
Ben Roethlisberger is on schedule to return for the Kansas City game. That would follow this week at San Diego and then a home date against Arizona. I’ll go on record right now… If the Steelers lose to the Chargers, Ben will be back for the Cardinals.
The Steelers remained in second place in the AFC North following division action from yesterday. The Bengals won at home against Kansas City while the Browns lost in San Diego.
The Ravens’ Justin Forsett ran for 150 yards against the Steelers. Over 90 of those yards came when defensive lineman Cam Thomas was in the game. Don’t be a bit surprised if Thomas is gone before the end of the season.
You may have noticed linebacker Anthony Chickillo was activated to the 53-man roster. The reason is that at least three teams, the Ravens among them, were going to sign him. Had the Steelers not acted, he would be gone.
While I feel that Sean Spence and Vince Williams have done a solid job replacing Ryan Shazier, the missing flash of Shazier on the field has become more noticeable than I thought it would. He really is that fast and his lack of durability will continue to generate more rumors of his move to safety next year.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
