SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Don’t Panic” Edition

Good Day Steelers’ Fans!!

If Steelers’ quarterback Landry Jones says “don’t panic” then I’m not panicking. OK, that’s a lie. I’m probably not going to panic this week but if he’s still the QB three weeks from now then I am for sure going to hit the panic button.

Here’s the practice report from yesterday. You might need a full cup of coffee with a shot of your favorite adult beverage for this…. Did Not Practice: Cam Heyward, Cody Wallace, Shamarko Thomas, Marcus Gilbert, Ben Roethlisberger, Markus Wheaton and DeAngelo Williams. Limited in Practice were: Ryan Shazier, Mike Mitchell and Rob Golden.

I’m quite certain the mystery around Big Ben’s injury and rehab time frame is due to a lack of communication. That’s not a good thing either.

‘Nail the Number’ week seven is out! Please tweet your entries to the handle @Nailthenumber1.

If you would have told me that entering week seven Stephon Tuitt would not have a sack I would have called you a liar.

Tweet of the Day… This is based on a comment I made about Landry Jones and a hashtag about a horror novel in five words. It’s from good friend @steelersworld1

I think Roger Goodell will be out as NFL Commissioner within the next 12 months. The one thing that the owners cannot tolerate among all of the mistakes he’s made is seeing television ratings drop. That means less revenue and that means Goodell is in trouble. Of course it doesn’t help that Goodell’s decisions to limit fun and not suspend Vontaze Burfict were awful.

Speaking of Burfict, I think that situation is going to get ugly before it gets better. He’s going to attempt to injure the wrong guy and an all-out brawl will ensue. Keep in mind, a lot of this could have been taken care of with a more assertive Roger Goodell. Stay tuned.

And finally, here was DeAngelo Williams’ thought on the Burfict situation.

Have a great Thursday Steeler Nation and remember, Don’t Panic!!

  1. What we should be saying about Landry Jones. “well after 4 years and having a few starts under his belt Landry certainly has command of this offense and we will have the whole playbook available” But then there’s the elephant in the room.
