SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Burfict Situation” Edition

TGIF Steelers’ Fans!

Pittsburgh Steelers’ Public Enemy #1 is coming to town this weekend and don’t think the team hasn’t noticed. The Steelers have already mentioned the name ‘Vontaze Burfict’ this week and it had nothing to do with getting together over the holidays. They know the type of things Burfict does. He steps on feet and ankles in the pile. He grabs, he punches, he pinches, he talks and he does everything humanly possible to get under the skin of Black and Gold players. Officials, while no longer ignorant to his tricks, will still miss some of his shenanigans. The Steelers cannot take the bait and ya, that’s easier said than done. We could probably say the same for Pacman Jones as well but Burfict is far and away the top problem child when the Bengals and Steelers hook up.

Vince Williams hasn’t practiced yet this week and that’s a significant concern. Tyler Matakevich is not 100% either so the Steelers could be really thin at inside backer.

I don’t know how Todd Haley does anything other than get the ball into the hands of Le’Veon Bell. The more touches he gets the better chances of a win the team has.  It’s that simple.

Tweet of the Day… There are numerous wardrobe things here I could never pull off.

Big News! ‘Nail the Number’ will return next week for the Lions game!!

According to the beat writers covering the Bengals, the team has been blaring “Renegade” in preparation of Sunday’s game in Heinz Field. They do realize this only happens once per game in most cases right?

Team President Art Rooney II stated yesterday the team has no plans to trade Martavis Bryant. I can confirm that there have been two teams that have called and the most adamant among them has been the Detroit Lions who the Steelers play next week. Regardless, I don’t see it happening.

Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
