Happy Thursday Steelers’ Fans.
The biggest news from overnight was that the Steelers and David DeCastro “are close” to a new deal. We’ve heard this before so I’m not going to get overly excited about anything until he signs on the dotted line. The sticking point continues to be guaranteed money and my understanding is that DeCastro’s side needs to come down a bit in order t make this thing work. If DeCastro is all about the money then he’s likely going to go elsewhere after the season but that also means he probably goes to play for team that isn’t exactly a contender. If chances of winning Super Bowls is his goal then he makes it work.
From the practice field… Both Marcus Gilbert (elbow) and Cam Heyward (ankle) practiced on Wednesday. Javon Hargrave (quad) did not but he is still expected to play on Monday night as of right now.
A day after Steelers’ Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw called Ben Roethlisberger the best quarterback in the league, Big Ben said he wasn’t. Roethlisberger pointed to Tom Brady as “the best in the world” right now and based on Super Bowl rings he’s right.
Tweet of the Day… I don’t know about “best on the planet” but ya, pretty darn good.
Many may not agree but @McDonalds fries fresh out of the grease is some of the best food on the planet!

Right now the Steelers are three-point favorites over Washington despite being the road team and with several players not in action. I’ll give you my prediction later in the week but I think that’s a bit much to be honest.
Not sure if you saw this but former Steeler Antwon Blake changed his first name to Valentino. No, I’m not kidding either.
If there’s one guy with a lot to prove it’s Jesse James. I think Ben Roethlisberger has taken a shine to him but he has to be better at blocking and make the most of his opportunities in the passing game.
Have a great Thursday Steeler Nation!
