SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 4/5/16

Tuesday is upon us Steeler Fans…

Rich Walsh of KDKA reported that Alabama defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was due to arrive in Pittsburgh today for an official visit. Most think Robinson will likely be gone by the time the Steelers choose at number 25 but I’ve seen a few legitimate mock drafts that show him falling to us for a variety of reasons.

Steelers’ All-Pro Antonio Brown survived another night on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ but received mixed reviews from the judges. The highlight was AB bringing his son out at the end of the dance in a matching, shiny outfit that I know SCB contributor Ben will be looking for on eBay today.

NFL.com is reporting that Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger has dropped about 15 pounds thanks to a ‘high-cardio’ workout plan. It’s not uncommon for Big Ben to go into training camp a lot lighter than than he finished the prior season and to me that’s part of the issue for him. Yes, he needs the added weight to take the pounding he does but I believe he needs to remain mobile too. It’s very typical for him to add weight as the season goes on and I think that needs to change.

Tweet of the Day… Cam Heyward saw the national title game last night!

One guy to keep an eye is Boise State edge rusher Kamalei Correa who has been climbing draft boards. He met with the Steelers at his Pro Day last week. He is projected as an outside backer in either a 3-4 or 4-3 which means the Steelers like his versatility.

OK so here’s another guy to watch on the Steelers’ draft board… Indiana offensive tackle Jason Spriggs might be the most athletic tackle in the draft and has spoken with the Steelers.

The Steelers are still waiting on Cortez Allen to see if he will take a pay cut. I don’t think he will budge.
