It’s Tuesday… 48 hours until the Draft!
I’ve had a revelation in light of Steelers’ General Manager Kevin Colbert’s comments yesterday. He was pretty adamant about the fact that they view last year’s second round pick Senquez Golson as a draft pick this year. That’s important because I really believed the Steelers would take two corners this week but if that’s their approach then I’m backing off the ‘two corner’ idea.
As far as another comment from Colbert yesterday, he mentioned that drafting players who are currently dealing with injuries might not be a good idea. They’ve done it before but this conversation clearly is about West Virginia safety Karl Joseph who is still recovering from ACL surgery.
Speaking of Joseph… Some have him going in the top 20 while I’ve seen other legitimate mocks dropping him all the way to the Steelers in the second round.
The Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette and Ray Fittapaldo have the Steelers taking William Jackson III in the first round.
Tweet of the Day… Couldn’t agree more.

William Gay isn’t going to be around forever and neither is Mike Mitchell who has had four shoulder surgeries. At least two of the Steelers seven picks this week will go towards the secondary and I wouldn’t be surprised if it were more.
Don’t be surprised if the Steelers take a pass rusher earlier than expected. With a decision about Jarvis Jones pending, I think another edge guy is a huge possibility.
I really planned on putting out my mock draft today but I’m still re-thinking it. This really shouldn’t be this difficult.
Have a great Tuesday Steeler Nation!!
