Hey Steelers Fans! Welcome to Thursday.

There were 13 guys on the injury report yesterday. The good news is that two of them, Van Jefferson and Roman Wilson were full participants. The bad news? The other 11 were limited or didn’t practice at all. Najee Harris was one that didn’t practice but it was listed as “non-injury related/rest.” Normally I’d leave it alone but since his arm was in a sling earlier in the week you can call me “concerned.” The other thing of note on the injury list was Jaylen Warren’s injury was listed as “knee.” You’ll recall that it was a hamstring injury that limited him in the preseason.

Slow Down Here

The Steelers signed cornerback and former top 10 draft pick C.J. Henderson yesterday and some fans feel as though they just signed Joe Haden back when he was cut by Cleveland. This will be his third team since being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 Draft. There’s no question the young man has talent but it just hasn’t clicked for him. The Steelers need depth and if he’s allowed time to learn then maybe he can develop into something. Just don’t get carried away with the pedigree.

The Podcast

We will be live tonight at 10pmET with a brand new episode of the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc. The 3-0 start will be the main focus but there are many other storylines that have already developed. Watch live and join in on the conversation!

Tomlin and the QBs

I have zero problem with Mike Tomlin’s decision to not name Justin Fields his ‘QB1.’ I detailed as much yesterday in this short piece.

Steelers History

Gordon decided to take us back to the Divisional Playoff against the Colts back in 2006. I will never forget where I was when Ben Roethlisberger made the ‘Immaculate Tackle.’

Random Reads

Jim Harbaugh claims that the hit Derwin James has been suspended for was caused by Pat Freiermuth’s stiff-arm. What is it with these Harbaugh’s??? We have our first player in college quit on his team because his NIL money didn’t come through. This is going to get worse… Isaac Seumalo getting back on the field will be a huge boost for the offense. Whether or not it’s this week I don’t know but his presence is needed… The Athletic did a survey of over 40 NFL insiders, executives and five coaches asking who had the best front office in the League. The Steelers came in 10th… TNF is Dallas at NYG. The Cowboys are a mess after losing two straight at home while the Giants just knocked off the Browns in Cleveland. I think it’s close but give me the Cowboys.
