Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Tuesday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-2 and so are the Baltimore Ravens. These two records couldn’t be more different however. Pittsburgh has scored 92 points while surrendering 73. The Ravens meanwhile have scored 147 and have given up 126 points. Both teams are 1-1 at home and 2-1 on the road. Ask yourself this however; which team are you more confident in when it comes to getting to the postseason? I know what my answer would be and for me, it all comes back to the offenses.

Tomlin Tuesday

Head Coach Mike Tomlin will have what is likely his most uncomfortable presser of the year today at Noon. While Tomlin pretty much has these things mastered, I expect there to be numerous questions about George Pickens and his lack of snaps on Sunday Night. More than that though, Tomlin needs to also address this team in general. There are problems on both sides of the ball and they need attention ASAP.

Trading Info

For those of you interested in whether or not the Steelers will be active in terms of player trades, keep in mind that the deadline is November 5th at 4pm. What you have to ask yourself however is will they be buyers or sellers? That will be dictated on their record, status in the division and AFC and consideration of the remaining schedule too.

Wilson Coming

Russell Wilson is going to get an opportunity in the near future. That doesn’t mean that Justin Fields has been bad. The Steelers need to know what Wilson can do in this offense because they again risk entering another season with an empty QB room. What Wilson will lack in ability to use his legs, I’m hoping he can make up for with his smarts and anticipation. I’m not holding my breath but I have a hard time imagining that he doesn’t get an opportunity.

Minkah is Correct

The Steelers’ All-Pro safety said the following Sunday night. “We have to play simple defense,” Fitzpatrick said. “We have a lot of talent in the secondary, a lot of guys who can play man and play zone. We just have to make a play call, simplify it and it will allow us to play fast.” There is no reason for the constant communication problems going on with this secondary yet it feels like it goes on every season. Sometimes you just have to let guys play and not think so much. (Quote courtesy Penn live.com)

That Other Wilson

My understanding is that Roman Wilson is healthy enough to play but that he still isn’t 100%. It’s also my understanding that he might not be picking things up well enough to gain the confidence of the coaching staff. Keep in mind that he missed a ton of Camp and all of the preseason. I’m not casting him off yet, but we need to get him on the field at some point.

Random Reads

I can’t see the Steelers moving forward with just T.J. Watt and Jeremiah Moon at OLB. I’m guessing they’ll poach someone from a practice squad as early as today… I do not see Najee Harris on this team next year. I’ll leave it at that… Keannu Benton has been slightly disappointing so far. He’s had some really good moments but I thought we’d see a little more ‘splash’ from him… JuJu Smith-Schuster had seven receptions for 130 yards last night for the Chiefs. Not bad for a guy with bad knees… Enjoy the presser today everyone! Cliches are coming!!
