Second Half begins… Eagles up 13-3
Eagles start at their own 20… Timmons taken to hospital. Looks like quite a gash on his shin…Tuitt nearly gets Wentz but he scrambles and finds Sproles down the sideline for 73 yard TD. Poor tackling. 20-3 Eagles
Steelers’ second half begins on the 25. Back to back throws to AB. Second one being challenged by Eagles. My first thought was that he is in bounds but haven’t seen replay. Ruling confirmed, Eagles lose a TO. After a good run by DWill, Ben misses wide open James. Forced to punt, running into the kicker. Will go for it on fourth and 5. I like the call. No good, nearly picked. Holding anyway. Eagles take over. Just not the Steelers’ day.
Eagles’ second drive and William Gay takes another bad penalty. Blitz comes but no pressure. Big play to the tight end. Touchdown Eagles. 27-10
Steelers advance over mid-field despite third drop of the game by Wheaton. Back to back sacks plus a fumble by Ben. Drive over.
Eagles take advantage of a terrible roughing the passer call and some poor tackling and go in again. 34-3 Eagles.
1:52 left in the third quarter. I would not put Big Ben in there. Totally futile at this point.
Steelers take about one minute off the clock, get a first down and punt. Eagles take over as we head to the fourth.
Steelers force a punt, 11:33 to play. I’ll be stunned if Ben and AB are still in the game. NO REASON AT ALL for them to be playing right now. And…. Ben stays in. I don’t get it. Steelers go for it on fourth and ten. AB can’t get to the sticks. Over it goes to Philly. Still 34-3.
I can tell you right now there’s an article coming on the stupidity of Ben still being in there….
Steelers get the ball back with seven minutes to go and Ben Roethlisberger is still in the game. I have defended Mike Tomlin many, many times but I can’t here. This is stupid. AB now 12 catches and over 140 yards. Garbage time stats. Ben goes deep and and it’s ruled a pick as Heyward-Bey and the defender fight for the ball.
Closing it down folks. Steelers are banged up and have a lot to work on. Worst loss under Tomlin and worst loss since 1997.
