While the Pittsburgh Steelers are now enjoying their summer prior to Training Camp, we’re going to spend some time previewing the positions. From the locks to the guys who are just ‘camp bodies’ we’ll take a look at all of the guys competing at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
Offensive Line
On the Roster: Zach Frazier, Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu, Dylan Cook, Brock Hoffman, Spencer Anderson, Gennings Dunker, Doug Nestor, Lorenzo Thompson, Jack Driscoll, Max Iheanachor, Mason McCormick, Steven Jones, Ryan McCollum
What We Know: Zach Frazier, Troy Fautanu and Mason McCormick are the only “sure things” right now. Even among those three there is uncertainty though. Fautanu started at right tackle in 2025 but seems destined to play left based on what we saw in OTAs. McMormick, who started at guard on the right next to Fautanu, has shifted to the left as well. The thinking here makes sense. These two guys built a nice relationship with each other last year and OL Coach James Campen wants to build on that.
What We Don’t Know: With center and the left side seemingly established, it’s the right side that is completely up for grabs. Throughout OTAs, Anderson and Cook got the first team reps at guard and tackle respectively. Broderick Jones – who did not receive his fifth year option – may start the season on the PUP list. His neck fusion surgery recovery seems to be going OK but his status remains questionable heading into Camp.

If he isn’t available then Cook or the rookie Iheanachor will start at right tackle. If I had to guess right now, they’ll start with Cook as a safer alternative while Iheanachor develops a bit more. I feel much more confident about guard where I do believe Dunker will be the starting guard by the time the season opens in September. He’s just a better overall guard than is Anderson so I think it’s a matter of time.
How It Shakes Out: Mike McCarthy typically keeps nine offensive linemen. Frazier, Anderson, Iheanachor, Cook, Dunker, McCormick, Fautanu appear to be locks. Jones’s status is a question mark and I’m going to go ahead and assume he’s on the PUP list. In my mind, there’s a reason that McCarthy brought in Brock Hoffman who was with him in Dallas. He has center and guard versatility. He started 16 games for Dallas while appearing in over 50. I think he becomes the eight O-Lineman. With Jones’ status in doubt, I’m going with the versatile Driscoll as my ninth guy. He can play guard or tackle and has appeared in almost 70 games during his five years.
Injuries always factor in as Camp and the preseason moves on but for now, that’s what I’m looking at for the offensive line in 2026.
