WPIAL playoff races are in full swing with just two weeks to go in the regular season. The first team in the WPIAL to clinch a conference title was the Franklin Regional Panthers, who wrapped up the 5A Big East Conference with a dominant win over Hempfield. This was Franklin Regional’s first conference title since 2013 and the Panthers will be in the playoffs for the 18th time in the last 19 years. On this week’s edition of the WPIAL Blitz Show, we had the pleasure of interviewing Franklin Regional Head Coach Lance Getsy.

WPIAL Blitz Show Week 7 Player of the Week (Presented by Brute Athletic)
Our Player of the Week from Week 7 was Armstrong QB Cadin Olsen. In the Riverhawks’ 55-31 victory over Mars, Olsen threw for 349 yards and 4 TDs and ran for 2 more scores. The 349 passing yards was the highest offensive yardage total in the WPIAL this week and vaulted him to the top of the WPIAL Passing leaderboard. Armstrong’s win over Mars sets up a showdown this week with Highlands for the Greater Allegheny Conference title.
Joining Olsen in the 6 TD Club this week was the incredible performance by Southmoreland’s passing game. Quarterback Kadin Keefer connected with WR Ty Keffer for 6 touchdown passes in the Scotties victory over Greensburg Salem.
