The WPIAL Championships are back at Heinz Field after a hiatus last year. The first Championship Game of the season took place last week with Mt. Lebanon thumping Central Catholic in historic fashion to win their first Championship since 2000. This weekend, the other five classifications will play their title games on the Heinz Field turf. The weekend kicks off on Friday with the 1A Championship Game between Bishop Canevin and OLSH, two schools searching for their second WPIAL title in school history. We were fortunate enough to interview both head coaches as part of this week’s WPIAL Blitz Show – Rich Johnson from Bishop Canevin and Dan Bradley from OLSH. We also ran through the other four Championship Games and Mt. Lebanon’s State Quarterfinal against Erie McDowell. Check below the video for timestamps of when we discuss each classification.
