So what’s the deal with Stephon Tuitt?

Reggie R.

That’s a million dollar question right now and from the info I’m getting it doesn’t sound like the Steelers have been too forthcoming. You’ll recall that Tuitt’s brother was killed this summer in a senseless hit and run accident. None of us can tell Tuitt or anyone else for that matter how to process that and I know he struggled. I’ve been told that he wasn’t in great shape when he arrived for training camp and that part of the reason, besides a bulky knee, was that he needed to get into game shape. I admit, I thought he would be ready to go by now but he isn’t and that’s why I believe the Steelers haven’t told us everything.

What’s your take on the fake field goal from Sunday? It’s one of those plays where if it works it’s genius and if it doesn’t you look foolish right?

Bob G.

Yes, that’s exactly the way I would put it too Bob. Here’s why I didn’t like it. First, it was a 3-3 game nearing the half and you get the ball to start the second half. It’s a defensive slugfest to this point so points are literally at a premium. Take the three, go up by three and then if you score a TD to open the third you have a two-score lead. The other thing I didn’t like was the conception of the play. By snapping it directly to Chris Boswell you don’t draw in those edge rushers. They had time to react and drop into coverage. Oh, and nearly getting Boswell killed wasn’t a good idea either.

Thoughts on how Dan Moore held up against Myles Garrett and did you see the grade PFF gave him?

Bill E.

Oh yeah, I saw the 0.0 grade for pass protection given to Moore by PFF and it’s further proof as to why anyone who gives them the time of day is nuts. I thought Moore did a very sold job. For a fourth round rookie left isolated on an all-pro pass rusher he did a damn fine job. He gave up one sack and I believe 3 pressures/QB hits. If you told me before the game that’s how it would go I would have signed up for it.

Do you put steak sauce on your steak?

Cindy S.

Cindy, how dare you ask such a question?!?! As a grillmaster and lover of steak it is my firm belief that you should NEVER put steak sauce on a steak. In fact, the only reason steak sauce should be used on a steak is if it were so well-done it become like chewing leather. For me, it’s salt, pepper and a pat of butter. Let the flavor of the steak itself do the talking!
