Let’s see if we can’t help you get over the hump today Steelers’ Fans! Here we go!

We’ve known for about a week that first round draft pick T.J. Watt would be wearing number 90. That wasn’t good enough however because the fans had to know the other designations!! We’ll here they are!

James Connor 30, JuJu Smith-Schuster 13, Cam Sutton 30, Colin Holba 49, Keion Adams 99, Josh Dobbs 5 and Brian Allen 29

Update: [Smith-Schuster will know wear 19 according to the Steelers’ release today.]

Keep in mind once again that these numbers are subject to change. Players will often switch numbers after training camp as other players get released. Therefore, jersey buyer beware!

A couple of items of note… Adams is the first player to be issued 99 since Brett Keisel… Dobbs takes over the 5 worn by Bruce Gradkowski… And Sutton gets the 20 that was once worn by Bryant McFadden which leads me to the…

Tweet of the Day… McFadden tweets at the rookie!

I am not convinced of two things yet and they both have to do with the slot. First, I’m not ready to say Cam Sutton will be a slot cornerback. While he may get a chance there I think the Steelers would love for him to play the boundary ahead of Ross Cockrell. Secondly, I’m not sold on JuJu Smith-Schuster replacing Eli Rodgers in the slot. This doesn’t mean he won’t be in the slot at times but I see him as an outside guy more than inside. My opinion could change obviously but that’s what I envision right now.

Tomorrow night the Steel City Blitz Podcast Presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh will be live at 10pm Eastern. We will be discussing the State of the Secondary, the rookie mini-camp and more.

Good luck to the Penguins tonight in their Game 7 battle versus the Caps. Much of the talk in the last two days has been about Sidney Crosby’s slide into the boards. While I agree it looked very violent and dangerous I’ve grown tired of the constant “armchair doctoring” that has gone on. It’s obviously something we in the NFL are very used to it and it’s really starting to irritate me. These organizations all have highly-qualified people to make these judgments. Let them do their jobs.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
