SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “So Glad He’s Gone” Edition

Good Monday to you Steelers’ Fans.

One of the great taglines from the movie “Jaws” was about whether it was safe to go back in the water or not. If I could take a liberty or two here, “just when you thought it was safe to open Twitter…” Antonio Brown continues to be one of the most immature and jealous athletes I can recall. I say this because he again felt the need to attack JuJu Smith-Schuster on the social media platform. While I wish JuJu would have chosen to bite his tongue I understand why he didn’t. This entire episode makes me once again glad to know that Brown will never again be a Steeler. I’m tired of him. Actually I’m exhausted by his childish behavior and complete lack of common sense. Doesn’t he have anything better to do with his life and big, new contract? I used to worry about how it would all end for Brown but I don’t any longer. I’m glad he’s gone and this episode just further solidified my feelings.

Tweet of the Day… I remain totally honest about this. Championships are great but having players who are about the team means more to me.

We have an incredible amount of Draft content already out and much more coming on a daily basis. You can check it all out by clicking here for our 2019 Draft content. Cornerbacks Justin Layne of Michigan State and Rock Ya-Sin of Temple visited the Steelers on Friday. I’ve already profiled Layne and am currently working on Mr. Ya-Sin.

With American Alliance of Football now shuttered, guys are looking for work. The Steelers have signed two such players. Center J.C. Hassenaur and defensive back Jack Tocho have both agreed to terms with the Steelers. Both men played for the Birmingham Iron. Hassenaur attended the University of Alabama while Tocho played his college ball at NC State. Don’t be surprised if one or tow more guys from the AAF make their way to Pittsburgh.

Peter King finally wrote something I can agree with… “Why, Antonio Brown? Why? Why go on social media and blame Ju Ju Smith-Schuster for the Steelers not making the playoffs? Bush league.”

Have a great Monday Steeler Nation! The Draft draws closer!
